Congratulations to the new Precinct Committee members!

Congratulations to all the new 2008-2012 Precinct Committee members of the Kentucky Democratic Party. Change For Kentucky members have reported in from all six congressional districts.

As committee members we are the backbone of the party, and we have, on Saturday April 12 at 10am, two of our most important tasks: electing our leaders at the County level and electing a delegation who will go to the State convention and elect our State executive board.

This is THE absolutely crucial time in grassroots politics within the Democratic Party. If you want it, run for leadership in your county and put yourself up as a delegate to the State Convention which will be held June 7 in Lexington at 10AM.

In the past four years, through this process CFK has placed a number of members in County party leadership and placed a member on the State Executive. Of course, our work in the neighborhoods and in our precincts is vital, but it is the leadership that fills vacancies, creates strategy, and sets the tone for how the party will be run. CFK is and can continue to be an important part of how the Democratic Party in Kentucky operates.

Your county chair will know where your meeting will be held. The meeting should have been posted in a local newspaper sometime within the last two weeks as well. If you cannot get a hold of anyone in your county who knows where the April 12 meeting is being held, call Amanda Flanary at KDP. Her number is 502-695-4828. She knows all and is very kind.

Campbell County Chapter of Change for Kentucky Endorses Greg Fischer

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

GREG FISCHER ENDORSED

At its April 2008 meeting, the Campbell County Chapter of Change for Kentucky endorsed Louisville Businessman and inventor Greg Fischer as its choice to be the Democratic nominee and Kentucky's next U.S. Senator.

The Campbell County Chapter of Change for Kentucky joins many other local Change Chapters in endorsing Greg Fischer. These Chapters include, Kenton County, Mason County, Hardin County, and Frankfort/Franklin County.

Campbell County Change for Kentucky believes that Greg Fischer exhibits the best opportunity to be elected to the US Senate from Kentucky in November in 2008. Fischer as a proven businessman and employer has the best grasp of the needs for the economy of any of the candidates running for the US Senate from Kentucky in 2008.

As members of the Campbell County Chapter live near I-75/71, the repair and replacement of the Brent Spence Bridge is an important issue. Greg Fischer knows the maintenance of Interstate Highways and Bridges are primarily a Federal responsibility. Greg Fischer has said that the current incumbent US Senator's leadership concerning interstate highway bridges over the Ohio River has been nonexistent. Fischer promises to be a leader in the US Senate for maintaining Kentucky's interstate highways and bridges.

Campbell County Chapter for Change for Kentucky is comprised of civic minded political volunteers committed to electing fiscally responsible candidates to local, statewide and national offices.

For Immediate Release: No Endorsement in the Senate Race

Update: Dale Emmons has contacted the CFK leadership. He meant to say Change To Win, a separate group that has endorsed Bruce Lunsford. He has apologized for the error, which was a simple confusion of names.

Since the withdrawal of Col. Andrew Horne, Change for Kentucky as a statewide group has not made an endorsement of a candidate for the US Senate.

This is contrary to what was said by Mr. Dale Emmons, who represented Mr. Bruce Lunsford at the Laffoon Dinner in Madisonville, Kentucky on March 29th. Mr. Emmons mistakenly said that Bruce Lunsford had been endorsed by Change for Kentucky.

First of all, Mr. Lunsford has never sought out a senatorial endorsement from Change for Kentucky or any of its local chapters across the Commonwealth. Nor has Mr. Lunsford appeared before any local chapters of Change for Kentucky.

Secondly, since the withdrawal of Col. Horne from the US Senate race, it should be noted that Change for Kentucky's legal status has changed and it is no longer a PAC which endorses candidates.

Local chapters of Change for Kentucky are making endorsements as local groups of Democrats.

In the US Senate Democratic Primary, most local chapters of Change for Kentucky have endorsed Louisville businessman and inventor Greg Fischer for the US Senate.

Chapters which have endorsed Greg Fischer for the US Senate include the following:

Campbell County
Frankfort and Franklin County
Kenton County
Mason County
Shelby County
