Democracy for America

March 18, 2004 marked the beginning of a new, hopeful chapter in American government.

Over the course of 2003, the presidential campaign of Governor Howard Dean of Vermont changed the face of politics forever. His campaign brought hope and energy and REAL PEOPLE into the political process with the charge of "You Have The Power". Over 650,000 people across the U.S. signed on to help the campaign of Gov. Dean; our grass-roots organization and our (small donor) fundraising skills became the new model for changing American politics.

Today, Gov. Dean announced the second phase of his organization. Democracy for America continues forward the principles and values of the Dean campaign:

"Confidently advance an agenda rooted in hope and real American values –opportunity, integrity, corporate responsibility, and community. People want back the country they believed in, a fair country where middle-class people could make a decent living and send their kids to college".

Change for Kentucky enthusiastically supports Gov. Dean and the Democracy for America organization, and will continue our growth as a DFA chapter for Kentucky supporters. We cannot, and will not, let this moment and this organization, built from the ground up, fall away.

Please visit Democracy for America, and keep checking back to our blog for more information on how Democracy for America and Change for Kentucky will work together to "Take back our country (and our state and our city and our neighborhood)!"
